Volunteering your time, expertise and passion is not only a service to the students and the schools, it’s a great way to build community and get to know people.
Outdoor Classroom/Garden The garden provides a natural setting for outdoor learning experiences, as well as nutritious, organic fruits and vegetables to the entire Springhurst community. The vegetables are planted, nurtured and harvested by the children throughout the school year with the help of parent volunteers.
International & Multilingual Committee Join this committee if you are interested in helping our international and multilingual families settle in and have the best experience possible.
Fundraising Events The PTSA conducts a number of fundraisers throughout the year. Would you like to help with the Pumpkin Fair? The Used Book Fair? Soup Night? There are plenty of opportunities! Safe Roads to School Committee One of our newest and most exciting committees! Be part of it from the beginning to help get our walking and biking students safe passages to school.
Legislative & Advocacy Do you have an interest in getting more parents informed about what's happening on the state and national level, and also help organize local advocacy efforts?
Used Book Fair Once a year, usually early Spring, the PTSA puts on this wonderful community event. If you love books, organizing books, or enjoy helping kids and community members find books, please join!
Health & Safety Do you have a special interest in health and wellness? Help organize student seminars on internet safety, the dangers of texting and driving, or positive body image. There's opportunities to work with all three schools on this committee.
Springhurst Publishing Room Every year the Springhurst Publishing Room volunteers meet with students in grades K-2 to help them become authors of their own books. They write the stories and create the artwork, and the volunteers do everything else necessary to produce beautiful little books for their keeping.
Building Bridges Building Bridges is an amazing program for elementary and middle school students which illuminates and celebrates the differences, disabilities, and quirks in all of us.
